Improving intervention with children aged 0 to 6 with high complexity

Tools and criteria to address, from an interdisciplinary perspective, the developmental, communication, motor and feeding needs of children aged 0 to 6 with high neurological complexity and multiple disabilities.

Supporting children with complex developmental needs requires understanding their reality as a whole and knowing how to adapt the intervention to each child, family and environment.

This course will allow you to explore a holistic, interdisciplinary model of care applied to children aged 0 to 6, incorporating tools and criteria to address needs related to development, communication, motor skills and feeding.

The course draws on the experience built up by Fundació Aspace Catalunya in caring for children with complex neurodevelopmental disorders, cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities.

A global perspective to better tailor the intervention

We will work from the biopsychosocial model and the WHO International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF). This framework makes it possible to understand the child beyond their difficulties and to take into account their abilities, family and environment when planning support.

This perspective helps professionals make better-informed decisions, coordinate the intervention across disciplines and build shared goals with families.

The course combines specialised knowledge, clinical experience and intervention strategies that can be applied to professional practice in highly complex contexts.
